.wont He do it?.

Sometimes, God shows you your destiny, yet He won’t show you the road to get there. Somewhere between the “what are you still doing up?” and the calculation of “how many hours of sleep can I still get?” hours of the night, in and out of sleep, my mind caught this from an audio message that had been playing. My immediate thought was well of course He won’t!

I’m not saying that He won’t guide you; that’s different. What I’m saying is that He won’t immediately show you how you’re going to get there, because let’s be honest, He knows as well as you do that if He showed you, your reply would probably be “No thanks!” You may not necessarily know the way to your destiny, but one thing you do know is that you’ll face many trials and tribulations. That’s Life.

Jer 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you…plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
At the same time James 1:2 says “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters whenever you face trials of many kinds…”

Whenever means. It’s coming. It certainly doesn’t say IF you face trials. Trials are guaranteed if you are living. However, as people many times our initial reaction when faced with a trial is “I’ll pass, or how do I avoid this” because we all know that the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

I’m not even just referring to temptation. I’m referring to all trials, whether it is a friend backstabbing you or losing a loved one. You want to stand strong, but you’re human; you’ll feel the pain and hurt of these things, but if you just remember that God has something great planned for you in the end, you’ll stand. Just as Paul said in

Romans 8:18 “…the sufferings of the present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

I carried this in the back of my mind and it really all resonated one day when I was reading my Bible and came across the story of Joseph. Joseph was a dreamer. He was a real professional dreamer lol. When he was young God showed him a dream where He revealed that his brothers would one day bow down to him. After sharing this them [sometimes we just need to shut up], his brothers attempted to kill him. They instead opted to abandoned him in a well, then decided to sell him into slavery. By the grace of God he became the right hand man of his master, but then again because of the shadiness of woman who claimed a false sexual harassment charge on him, Joseph found himself in jail for YEARS before he ended up being the right hand man to Pharaoh. He got there. His brothers , who didn’t even recognize him and thought he was dead all these years, bowed down to him.

When my eyes hit this verse: I thought WOW won’t He do it.

See, Joseph had his dream in Genesis 37 verse 5

And the literal words his brothers bowing to him didn’t happen until Genesis 42 verse 6.

I don’t know about you but if God is showing me something for my life in a chapter 37, I’m expecting it in chapter 38. Lol.

See God showed Joseph his destiny, but didn’t show him how he was going to get there, because if Joseph knew he was going to be sold into slavery and end up in jail, do you think he’d go out into that field and work with his brothers the day they sold him to slavery? Probably not. He would’ve ran for his life! He wouldn’t grab no shoes or nothing Jesus!

My main point is this. God stays true to His word. When you hear His word over your life, although it may be hard, have peace in your faith and in knowing that it WILL happen. Also be mindful that although you may not now how it will happen, He will order your steps for it to happen, but it may take time and it may not be easy. That’s just this thing called life, whether you’re a Christian or not.

Every time I get impatient I think of Joseph and remember that I’m serving the same God that he was, and if He did it before He’ll do it again. (yes I’m quoting Tye Tribbett). Try not to doubt yourself with whatever He’s called you to do. The mind is a complex organ. The devil will use your mind as the gateway to all these insecure thoughts. But remember that God doesn’t call the equipped, but He equips the called. He got you! And in the now famous words of Lebron James (who I can’t believe im quoting) “It’s not why me? It’s how He want me to do it!” and won’t He do it!
